Hi everybody,

My name is Ahmed Iam 27, I am originally from the middle east (Iraq). I have immigrated to the US, Utah last July, 2009 due to my employment with the US troops in Iraq. I have seen many churches around here so I statred reading about the LDS church, I have visited the Temple two times since I got here, its so amazing how they built that beautiful place Iam sure God's power has been involved in that. Well I have joined this website to know more friends and to learn something about the church.

Spouse Against Temple Marriage?

Ok so my husband is a disfellowed member and he has no real desire to get refellowed. He has tried some over the years, but when he gets close to succeeding, he backs off.

Anyway, when we met I was a brand new member. He promised he'd get refellowed and we'd get sealed. ( I joined the church Sept 30th, 2007. We met February 10th 2008 and was married April 18, 2008) Shortly after we were married (actually a week after we were married), he decided I should never get sealed to him. He thinks I deserve a "better mormon." He has a past and he's absolutely convinced he will be in the lowest part of heaven, if in heaven at all. He feels I need to progress spiritually without him.

Long story short...he's always telling me to leave him and find a "better mormon" and that he doesnt want me to get sealed to him, that I need to find someone who "would actually see me" in heaven.

I just was wondering if anyone has ever heard of anyone being like this or has any advice on what to do? I've prayed about this and I've talked to some members and it's a very mixed signal sort of thing. And yes, I've talked to the bishop, but the bishop is my brother-in-law and it's always ackward to me.

I hate to just vent like this, but it's nice to be able to ask people who are nonbiased

Hello My name is Roni and I'm 24. I live in Missouri. I joined the church 2 years ago (as of Sept 30th). I was the first in my family. My parents joined 2 months later. Hopefully someday my sisters will do so as well. I met a man shortly after joining and we married after knowing each other 3 months. He's a disfellowed member. We have lots of issues, but I'm confident that things will ultimately work out the way they are suppose to.

I work constantly at a home for troubled teens. I'm never home and when I am, I'm sleeping. (I usually work 12 to 15 hours, overnight shift). There are very few members in our ward in my age group and I'd love to make some LDS friends

one story is about a older boy who`s lunch was stolen by a younger boy but the younger boy was very skinny and the older boy took the punishment which was 12 or so strokes on the bare back.the young boy tells the older boy he is sorry for taking his lunch and tells the older he will love him until the day he dies.

the 2nd story is about a young lady or gentleman standing in a room full of files and jesus appears and then opens a file drawer and on a sheet of paper is the sins done by the person but then jesus cries and signs his name over the sin.

eternal marriages

During my temple marriage prep class, I was told something that has terrified me. I have been a member all my life, but my father was not active so I didn't have a priesthood member in my home as a child. I was told some fact that have scared me and I do not know where to turn. I will call my bishop tommorrow, but just wanted to know if anyone knew about eternal marriages and hopefully can calm me down.

I guess since I suggested this forum I should probably post an introduction.

My name is Angela. I have been LDS all my life, but I was inactive for a large part of my teen and adult life. I decided about 18 months ago to get back to church and start doing the right thing. I absolutely 100% believe that the church is true. NEVER in my life (even during my inactive years) have I ever doubted it was true. My inactivity was related to spiritual laziness, as I like to call it.

I have 3 wonderful children. Ages 8, almost 3, and 6 months. I am a single mom. I hate telling my pitiful story, but it is NOT my fault that I am a single mom with a young baby. My husband decided to invoke his right to agency soon after I found out I was pregnant again.

I would love to have some discussions on Gospel topics and such. I was spending so much time on non-LDS message boards, that I thought it might be of benefit to find some LDS ones.

Just a thought. It might be more inviting to have a forum for new people to introduce themselves. It would break the ice, so to speak. I feel a little strange just jumping into discussions and such, and I know others might feel the same way too.

Just think how great a professional of any kind you could be with only 143 days of experience!!!

People want change so badly? . . . . maybe we should lower the experience requirement for doctors, lawyers, airline pilots, etc. This would cause some change!

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory Committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.

That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

The one single Senate committee that he headed never even met -- once.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.

Think about it.......143 days -- 20.4 weeks -- 4.7 months ...

Our children spend more time in pre-school getting ready for kindergarten.

How, I ask how can this be serious??? No executive experience at all and extremely little national/international political experience..

I was on Foxnews.com and found some stories about members that don't support what the First Presidency has asked of Californians. I left Calfornia almost 3 years ago now and am very happy I did. To think that these members speak out to news sites and won't give there names. I wonder why? Is it that question about supporting church leaders in the Temple recommend interview? I am beginning to lose my mind with all that is going on and how fast things are turning bad in this world. What would Captain Moroni do today? There is a battle out there now that is being fought for our freedom to worship how we want. We can't be questioning our leaders, that is not an option in the church. This is not the government, if you don't like what the leaders are saying, check yourself. The church is not a democracy, it is lead by the Lord and when he tells our leaders we need to do something we have to follow.

I don't know if this is good clean fun but I didn't know where else to post this.

I have heard it through the grapevine that people are saying this is a difficult site to navigate.
